The British Government relocates the Chinese boat dwellers or Tanka people in Hong Kong. Sampan boat houses crowd in Aberdeen Harbor. The British colonial government provides one room for each family in this large-scale housing project. Vehicles on the beachhead carry the boat dwellers to the British Crown colony. The boats are destroyed.

Smaranda Braescu sets a new 24,000 foot record for high altitude parachute jumping.

Miss Smaranda Braescu poses near an airplane. She enters the plane and is shown wearing an oxygen mask along with the pilot. The plane takes off from the airfield. View of interior through right-hand door, as driver enters at left door and settles himself on seat. He sets manual choke and throttle, steps on foot accelerator pedal, checks gears in neutral and hand brake off. Driver turns steering wheel several turns to left. View shifts to cutaway of steering mechanism showing its action. Truck drives up to a loading dock, backs into position, and then drives away. Scene shifts to a busy city street, where the truck is seen in traffic. It waits with other vehicles as pedestrians cross with the light, and then proceeds. The truck pulls into a Ford Benzol station where operator refuels it.
