Workers in a Studebaker automobile factory move a fully wooden crated new automobile on an overhead hoist. It is labeled "Studebaker Automobiles" on it's side. Views of crated cars bound for different destinations overseas. Seen are those headed to: Buenos Aires, Capetown, Melbourne, and Cairo. Next, a Studebaker sedan car is seen raising lots of dust as it races at high speed over a dirt road on Catalina Island, off the coast of California. The driver is trying to climb a 1500 foot hill over a distance of 3 miles, as fast as he can. His car is seen negotiating hairpin turns during the ascent and finally arriving at the summit.
President Woodrow Wilson returns to his home at Princeton, New Jersey, after casting his vote int the 1916 National election. The President moves through a crowd to enter his car. Scene shifts to some Well known Republican politicians and leaders walking in a group along a street in New York City. At the far left is Republican New York City Mayor John Purroy Mitchel aka "The Boy Mayor of New York. Near the center of the group is "Charles Evans Hughes, former Governor of New York State, and former Associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court who is running for President as a Republican, against Democratic incumbent President Woodrow Wilson. (Hughes resigned from the Court in June, 2016, to pursue the Presidential bid.) The group is being followed by some newsmen and photographers, and curious onlookers, walking in the street. One with a newspaper stuffed in his jacket pocket, reaches out to Justice Hughes and shakes his hand. Next, Justice Hughes is seen posing briefly, with others, on the sidewalk in front of a building. He starts to doff his hat.
Chrysler Turbine Special seen written on a new Chrysler test automobile with a lightweight efficient turbine motor. Several people gathered near the turbo automobile car. Buildings in the background. A woman puts her hand under the number plate for demonstration of low exhaust heat mechanism. The number plate reads 'AE 6967'. The car is driven to Los Angeles. The car inventor and designer, George Huebner, is seen with the turbo car in Los Angeles, and he is greeted by Hollywood stars Mara Cordey and Leigh Snowden.
Count Basie and his orchestra members participate in a celebration of Paul Robeson’s 46th birthday and on the anniversary of the Council on African Affairs. The event is held at the 17th Regiment Armory, at 34th Street and Park Avenue in Manhattan. Basie's jazz and swing band plays and he leads his orchestra from the piano. The audience fills the hall to capacity.
Mayor F. H. La Guardia gives a speech in the Mayor's Office in City Hall. He says that any peace talk by Hitler is a sheer nonsense and there should be a complete assurance of permanent peace in all the countries including U.S. Various views of newspaper reporters as they listen and note down the speech.
