An English war bride is interviewed with her husband, a United States Army Captain, in uniform, upon her arrival in America after World War II. She says she doesn't know what to say, they have waited so long for this day. Another couple is interviewed with their baby. The British woman says it had been weeks and weeks since she had seen her husband. A third English war bride and her baby, reunited with her American husband, said she read, in American newspapers, that American girls are not too pleased about soldiers marrying English girls. She says further, that she hopes they won't feel too badly about it, because love is love, all over the world.

Scenes of Macy's 1964 Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Opening scene shows a group of drum majorettes marching in the 1964 Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Camera views alternate between spectators lining sidewalks and the marchers. Some spectators hold young children up so they can see. Several clowns are seen in bright costumes. A huge balloon float flies overhead, tethered by marchers. A float from the Radio City Music Hall carries several women dressed in white costumes, who wave to the crowd. A huge Donald Duck balloon sails high above the street. A Humpty Dumpty float is seen. Children watch intently from sidelines. An elaborate special car (The Koach,created by Barris Kustom Industries) carries cast members Ed Gwynne (Herman) and Al Lewis (Grandpa) of the Munster family television show. Spectators holding balloons as they watch the parade. The climax of the parade is a huge float carrying Santa Claus past the Macy's flagship store, at 151 West 34th Street, where marching bands line both sides of the street in front of the store entrance, to greet Santa.

Japanese women and children disembark from the Red Cross repatriation mercy ship "Gripsholm," and sick helped off the ship which provided safe diplomatic passage for interned civilians under exchange and repatriation agreements. The Gripsholm was of the Swedish American Line, under charter by the U.S. Government.
