Light flashes are noticed on a peak of a nearby hill on the island. Sailors aboard the DD look through binoculars. A reply signal is sent form the DD. The rescued man was found to be a radioman of the United States Navy (USN), named George Tweed who was hiding on the island for the past 31 months.
