The U.S. Army Air Corps Fokker C-2 named the 'Question Mark' is rolled out and takes off.from Van Nuys, California, on New Years Day 1929 with Capt.Ira Eaker at the controls. Shortly thereafter,it is refueled by a C-1 airplane piloted by 1st Lt. Odas Moon and 2nd Lt. Joseph G. The U.S. Army Air Service modified Atlantic-Fokker C-2A, named the 'Question Mark,' taxis and takes off. Refueling operation between the Question Mark and a Douglas C-1 aircraft. Question Mark in flight over the coast of California. A U.S. Army Air Service Douglas C-1refueling plane, with hose trailing below it, flies above the Question Mark. Crew member can be seen disconnecting the 3 inch fuel hose and throwing it off the Question Mark. After being aloft continuously for 6 days, the Question Mark landed at Metropolitan Airport, Van Nuys, California on January 7, 1929. Staff Sergeant Roy W. Hooe, Lieutenant Elwood R.(Pete) Quesada, Lieutenant Harry A. Halverson, Captain Ira C. Eaker and Major Carl A. Spatz, stand beside their airplane. Formal dedication of the Edison Institute, Ford Museum, and Historical Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan

Huge crowd attending the dedication of the Edison Institute, Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, in Dearborn, Michigan, on a rainy October 21, 1929. The event includes a Jubilee of Lights, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Edison's electric light. People holding umbrellas, stand on platform of the Smithcreek Railroad depot, which has been moved to the village. Steam issues from antique locomotive parked on far track. An 1850 steam locomotive decorated with American flags, pulls a 3-car train into the depot, with its bell clanging. Secret Service agents step from the moving train to take up positions on the platform.U.S. President, Herbert Hoover, escorts Thomas Edison, down the steps of the train to the platform. Mrs. Hoover follows, along with Henry Ford, who moves quickly down the steps, as other notable guests also alight. The President, and Mrs. Hoover, along with Edison and Ford, enter a car and proceed in a motorcade through the city of Detroit. Tickertape is seen descending from the city buildings. A speaker stand at steps of City Hall is decorated in patriotic bunting and displays pictures of Hoover and Edison, and a sign reading: "Light's Golden Jubilee." Guests remaining at Greenfield village are taken on guided tours in horse-drawn carriages. Many who walk carry umbrellas. Among building seen are: An 1828 toll house and shoe shop;Blacksmith shop; a tintype studio of the 1880s; an 1830s post office and apothecary shop, from Phoenixville, Connecticut; the Clifton Inn, on the village green; a General store, from Waterford, Michigan; the Village Town Hall; and the Martha Mary Chapel. Interior of museum galleries, with guests in formal attire assembled for a candle light banquet, while at the Menlo Park exhibit, Edison, with assistant, Francis Jehl, re-enact the successful demonstration of a carbon filament electric light. (FDNY Firemen Elbert Hardman and Nelson Tuite, both of Engine 36 were operating the deckpipe on the 1929 Seagrave hose wagon of Engine 36, when an explosion blew out the top corner of the building front wall. Both fire fighters were killed and the hose wagon was destroyed.) The firemen evacuate casualties and transfer them into ambulance. Thick ice covers the building from freezing temperatures, after the blaze was extinguished. (World War II period).

After graduating from the University of Missouri and serving in World War I, he joined his father and brothers at the RB Jones and Sons Insurance firm. He then became the managing director of the same firm. In 1929, with other businessmen he organized the Kansas City Fire and Marine Insurance Company. Morton also served as President of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. He talks about his role as a businessman and a church song that helps him deal with his daily problems. He states his firm belief in God and how that faith and wisdom guides him. He also talks about the importance of the human element in companies and quotes Winston Churchill.
