Distinguished officials and guests are arriving in the garden of the Schwarzau castle, on Sunday, October 22, 1911, for the wedding breakfast, following the marriage, the day before, of Archduke Charles of Austria-Este and Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma. An outdoor altar has been set up and Roman Catholic clergy are engaged in ceremonial preparations. Princess Zita kneels at a singular pew and is joined by Charles, who stands beside her. (A small dog is seen briefly in the foreground.) From a different camera angle, the couple are seen kneeling side-by-side, as Priests proceed with their ministrations. Camera pans left to 81-year-old Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria standing, in the center of the yard, surrounded by the rest of the participants, including a group of girls in white dresses. A floral wreath with an organza bow and tails is suspended by one of the castle windows. Some staff watch the ceremony from a window.

Elevated view of German people walking at platforms of a busy railway station and people sit in train. Woman stands and approaches lake beach water, she removes her robe to swim; children play and swim at a beach. Many families cooking on portable stoves near the beach shore. Two women cook and taste food. Boy eats food and view of his family enjoying a meal together. People sit on a wagon. Brief return to restaurant scene with the two men. Then scene of female performer as she blindfolds a male trapeze artists who then performs in a German circus, leaping from a platform in a trapeze act, releasing from the trapeze while blindfolded, and successfully catching the hands of another trapeze artist. Scene switches to postwar era (after World War 1), where the emphasis is on Girls! Numerous scenes of various female dancer groups performing on stage, with high kicks and precision dancing in Follies-type productions. In next scene, outdoors, German soldiers are seen on parade through the Brandenburg Gate. Numerous outdoor scenes of Germans enjoying themselves in Berlin. Many Berlin landmarks and statues shown in the time before World War 2. Scenes include: the Berlin Cathedral; The Poseidon Statue next to Alexander Platz; Brandenburg Gate; Unter den Linden; Lustgarten; a tour bus flying an American flag; and the winged Berlin Victory column rising up, as seen from a moving vehicle.
International Bridge or Galata Bridge (Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa, Galata Köprüsü, 34425 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Turkey) in Constantinople (present-day Istanbul) Turkey. American sailor stands looking over the bridge. On board a U.S. Navy ship, of the U.S. Naval Detachment in Turkish Waters, sailors forge an iron bar. One strikes hammer held by another which leans upon the bar against a large anvil. Pieces of the bar flake off. A sailor saws a piece of wood. Sailors assemble parts of the ship. An officer holds a sextant and a sailor writes down readings. Sailor holds a line and another signals with semaphore flags on the ship.
Sir Robert Borden, Prime Minister of Canada, spends a day with the Dominion troops of Canada, famous for their conquering of Vimy Ridge during World War 1. Scene of the field (likely near Shorncliffe). Soldiers train and drill, advancing on a battlefield, running and lying down prone to ready rifles and bayonets. Near barracks, they gather and listen to an address from Sir Robert Borden. Canadian Army soldiers raise hats and cheer.
In final days of World War 1, October, 1918, Italian troops are seen proceeding against Austro-Hungarian forces. The Italians advance and employ a large searchlight over the trenches at night. Shells burst above the battlefield. After Austria requested an armistice (signed on November 3rd) Austrian troops are seen surrendering in large numbers and assembling in open areas. Meanwhile, Italian troops enter the city of Trento in the Alps mountain range.
