Germany institutes measures to increase war efforts on the home front during World War II

Captured German propaganda film designed to encourage the population in the final days of World War 2. The closed Theater des Volkes (Theater of the people) in Berlin is seen at it's start. Steel gates are being pulled across the entrance of the Deutsches Opernhaus (German Opera House). Steel gates are drawn across the entrance to the Schiller Theater on Bismarckstrasse in Berlin. A sign announcing the open hours at a play house, is covered by a cardboard. Likewise a sign at an opera theater is covered. (Narrator states that Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Reich Minister of Propaganda, has been given the title: "Reich Plenipotentiary for Total War.") City trams are diverted to carry war supplies. View of men loading boxes into one. A tram pulling rail cars loaded with freight. An automobile being towed by a tram. Morale boosting slogans posted in various places. (one reads "Relentlessly determined to win victory." Another reads "With the Leader (Fuhrer) to Victory." Joseph Goebbels, addressing a rally of armaments workers in the Rhineland District, tells them (according to the Narrator) "Before we admit the enemy to German soil, and submit ourselves to his will, we will first work our hands bloody and work to our last breath." The assembled workers applaud enthusiastically.Men and women over 65 years of age are seen engaged in light manufacturing. German miners coming off shift volunteer to dig trenches and prepare earthworks. The receive tools and march to a work site. Views of men digging defenses in East Prussia where it became urgent as the Soviet army drew near in October, 1944. In another similar scene, many women are seen working alongside men building defenses. A group of Nazi officers pose for pictures ostensibly working to also dig fortifications. A huge civilian work force is seen digging deep and wide ditches to stop or delay invaders.

Japanese General Oshima Hiroshi visits the Wolf's lair during World War II. High ranking German officers congregate at the Wolf's Lair

Adolf Hitler and German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop walk side by side, at the Wolf's Lair, Hitler's headquarters in the woods of Gierloz, Rastenburg, East Prussia (Poland) during World War 2. Hitler pets a dog as they walk. General Franz Halder walks with General William Keitel. Next, Von Ribbentrop and Keitel are both seen escorting General Oshima Hiroshi, envoy from Japan, and an aide. Behind them is Walter Hewel of the Foreign Ministry, and Admiral Hans-Georg von Friedeburg, in a white jacket. The group enters a Wolf's Lair building. Scene shifts to outdoors, where high ranking German officers enjoy themselves, with introductions and salutes, and converse, and joke with one another. Next, Hermann Goering is seen walking with Walter Hewel. Scene changes showing Goering, with several other German officials, in wooded area with flowering trees in background. Camera zooms in showing Admiral Theodor Burchardi, who renders a traditional military salute to Goering. German officers huddle, with Goering looking on, over a map. Goering and Admiral Karl Dönitz are the seen conversing as they walk. The next scene is a view from inside a Wolf's Lair building , as Hermann Goering leads a large group of German officers. He steps up the entrance to the building. Change of scene shows Adolf Hitler saying goodbyes and shaking hands with the visiting officers.

Large crowd gathered at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. People waving farewell to the men aboard the USS Arizona (BB-39) battleship as it is launched into the East River. Adolf Hitler hosts Bulgarian Regents Prince Kiril and Prof. Bogdan Filov at the "Wolf's Lair,"after the death of King Boris III

Film opens showing Adolf Hitler and staff awaiting arrival of a train at the platform of Gorlitz Station, the private station railroad station serving Hitler's East Prussian headquarters (called the Wolf's Lair) near Rastenburg (now Ketrzyn, Poland) . A Steam locomotive pulls a passenger train into station. The Bulgarian regent Prince Kiril steps from the train and greets Hitler. The second regent, Professor Bogdan Filov, gets off the train and shakes hands with Hitler, Generals on Hitler's staff, including Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel, and German Foreign Minister Joachim Von Ribbentrop. Hitler escorts Prince Kril to a waiting car. Brief glimpse of the Bulgarian flag mounted on side of the car. Next, Hitler escorts Prince Kril from the car into a building at the Wolf's Lair. Members of Hitler's military staff and Professor Filov follow them into the building. Inside, Hitler removes his hat and gives it to an aide. He greets Bulgarian officers and officials. Several closeups of Hitler. Outside a Bulgarian officer chats with Marshal Keitel and another German officer. Hitler and Prince Kril emerge from the building and Hitler bids them farewell.
