Iconic British pop band “The Beatles” is awarded the MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire). Crowds of teenage fans stand outside the Buckingham Palace in London. Shrieking fangirls jumping, trying to get a glimpse of their idols as police held them back. The Beatles arrive at the palace in John Lennon’s Rolls-Royce. The pop group is invested with the 'Most Excellent Order' of the British Empire for their economic contribution to the United Kingdom. It was the first time that the MBE was bestowed upon "pop stars". The Beatles- John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison- hold their medals. Audience cheers and waves. Cameramen take photographs. Some fans run after John Lennon’s Rolls-Royce as it drives away outside the Buckingham Palace.
Boating race 'Rowing Classic' held at Thames River, London. Cambridge and Oxford Crew compete with each other. A huge crowd gathered to watch the boat race. Several people carry banners. A German Zeppelin airship during World War 1. It has the word "Schwaben" written on it. (Presumably from Schwaben, Germany). It is seen taking off from the ground in Germany, soaring above a German city and out over the sea. Narration indicates it is on a London bombing run, scheduled to arrive over London around midnight. Next scene shows the Zeppelin in flames and crashing into the North Sea the next day.
Hippies stage their own kind of fashion show at Psychedelic Chelsea showroom in London. Young men and women wear Russian knickers, front less frock coat, mini pants suit and fur trimmed coats. The models in latest 1960s hippie fashions dance in a group.
