Brief views of a commercial steam ship sinking in U.S. waters, in 1919
A single funnel freighter, with two masts, is seen sinking from the stern, in U.S. waters, in 1919. Her aft section is already under water, with only her stern mast visible. There is no sign of life aboard the ship. Film is taken from another vessel nearby, that is rising and falling with surface waves. The sinking ship is going under rapidly, sternfirst. Next, only her bow is seen as it starts to slip beneath the surface of the water, rotating slightly to starboard, as she goes straight down, and disappears from view. View shifts to position upon wall of a fort, where the camera pans across forest at the base of the fort and the city of Yerevan spread out below. Final sequence shows local Armenian people going about their ordinary activities. Some walk along a dirt road, next to masonry buildings. A man and woman sit in the shade of a stone wall, with a young child seen crouched between them.
German internees being repatriated in 1919, after the end of World War I
Some 2000 Germans, interned at Fort Oglethorpe and Fort McPherson, are being repatriated after the end of the war, in 1919. They arrive by train at the port in Charleston, South Carolina, where they assemble with their personal belongings. They are assisted and supervised by U.S. Army soldiers. They board the USS Martha Washington transport ship. Another large ship is seen behind her at the pier. U.S. Navy officers and sailors are seen watching as the passengers board. Among the passengers are civilians who had been detained as suspected spies. They are boarding the ship with members of their families. A small child and a babe in arms are seen as well as other children. After boarding, passengers and crew line the deck of the ship. "USS Martha Washington," is clearly displayed on her side. She is seen moving slowly away from the pier and getting underway. to Germany.

The Hillside at Suresnes cemetery is filled with spectators and an honor guard cordon of French soldiers in uniform, surrounds the cemetery proper. Large American flag flies at half mast. Several women and a child walk on path. People surround a covered monument in center of the cemetery. Rows of crosses mark graves of the fallen. French tricolor flag flying high in the background. Crosses decorated with small American and French flags. A monument at center of cemetery is covered with flowers and flags. An American army officer walks up to the monument and appears to be inspecting everything.
American World War I cemeteries in France, as seen in 1919
Panning View from a nearby hill, overlooking an American World War I cemetery, somewhere in France, as seen in 1919. It is layed out in the form of a long rectangle, with white roads and paths enclosing and crisscrossing the entire area, so that each individual row of graves is bounded by a white path. Its major roads intersect at a circle with flagpole at the center. The cemetery is in a level field surrounded by pastureland, except for the overlooking hill from which it is photographed. Scene shifts to Argonne American cemetery in France. Aerial views of graves. Foliage at the hill side. Plantings form letters of cemetery name i.e."Argonne Cemetery," at the edge of the field of crosses. The American flag flies at the cemetery. Individual Graves are seen marked with numbered white crosses bearing names of fallen American soldiers of World War 1. Several markers bear the cross of David, at graves of Jewish American soldiers. 1919 U.S. Army Transcontinental Motor Convoy overcomes difficulties crossing bridges in Pennsylvania
U.S. soldiers place planks on exit side of the old covered bridge (built 1818) on the Lincoln Highway, over the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, during the 1919 Motor Transport Corps convoy journey from Washington DC, to San Francisco. A truck of the convoy, then drives slowly over those planks easing it down from the bridge floor to the lower dirt road. At another crossing point, near Chambersburg, a soldier removes lower boards from a bridge covering to allow a tall army truck to exit. Meanwhile, another truckpasses without difficulty on an immediate adjacent lane of the bridge.
