Mrs Nixon views the turkeys and talks to the officials.
Older men and women dance at a garden in Oakland, California. The dancers from the "class of '61" (1861 - Civil War era) square dance in pairs. They dance to the tune of "Johnny in the low ground" and "Turkey in the Straw".
Officers, of the U.S. Military Mission to Turkey and Armenia, and Armenian officers,leaving the Governor's residence, after a dinner given to them by the Governor of Kars, Armenia. Several Armenian military musicians, standing near the steps, play instruments as the officers leave. A Mission vehicle drives away. Scene shifts to an Armenian cavalryman carrying their national tricolor flag. He is followed by a contingent of mounted cavalry acting as honor guard for the U.S. mission.
Men lined on a bench turkey plucking competition at Ottman and Company building in New York. Plucked turkeys piled in front of them. The winner plucking 30 turkeys in 50 minutes is presented a turkey. The turkey flaps in his hands. A slow motion segment shows a man in the competition yawning while pulling off turkey feathers.
Turkish prisoners of war being repatriated in Europe. They board a ship and some receive cigarettes from well-dressed civilian men who reach from the dock to the former prisoners, on board. Several former prisoners pose in the tatters and rags of their former uniforms. Many of the former prisoners wear garrison caps. All have had recent hair cuts and appear clean. Many prisoners are seen gathered in an open yard in the port of embarkation, which also contains a shelter and a fenced area filled with baggage, in the background.
