French General Joseph de Goislard de Monsabert, commander of the French forces that liberated the city, is seen conversing with several officers. Later, He is seen walking behind General Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, Commander of the French First Army that liberated Toulon and Marseilles., and Emmanuel d'Astier de La Vigerie, a French journalist, politician and member of the French Resistance. A woman runs into the street and presents a bouquet of flowers to General de Tassigny.
