Iceland becomes a republic during World War II. Tents set up for citizens of Iceland to vote in a referendum outside the city of Reykjavik. Citizens gather for the ceremony marking the proclamation of Iceland as a republic. President Sveinn Bjornsson and the Bishop of Iceland as the new republic is formed. Shasta Dam in Shasta Lake City, California is ready to generate power during World War II. Shasta Dam, part of the Central Valley Project system is ready for transmission. Water flows through conduits into 100,000 horsepower turbines that drive huge generators. Men walk in front of the power system ready for transmission.
U.S. Task Force ships battle Japanese enemy aircraft in the Pacific Theater during World War II. A Japanese aircraftgoes down in flames as the United States Task Force battles a sudden air attack. A U.S. fighter aircraft lands on a carrier deck on one wheel. Nigh attack scenes (or possibly dawn or dusk): Two Japanese airplanes are attacked by massive barrage of anti aircraft fire from U.S. Navy ship. One of the aircraft is seen on fire, in a slow arc low arc across the sky until the aircraft, in flames, crashes in the ocean water. Dramatic battle scenes as U.S. ships fight Japanese aircraft at night.

A Japanese air base comes under American possession. Reinforcements and supplies arrive by air. Paratroopers and parachute supplies are landed by U.S. Army Air Force transport aircraft.
