Walls of not more than half a dozen buildings left standing. Tracks of narrow gauge that ran between the buildings appear occasionally from heaps of rubble. Cradle carts for moving bombs and robots rust by the road way. French work men with picks and shovels carve a path through the rubble. French Forces of the Interior (FFI) soldiers lift a mine while others stand guard with captured Mausers, alert for snipers still hiding in the forest.
