Turkish prisoners of war being repatriated in Europe. They board a ship and some receive cigarettes from well-dressed civilian men who reach from the dock to the former prisoners, on board. Several former prisoners pose in the tatters and rags of their former uniforms. Many of the former prisoners wear garrison caps. All have had recent hair cuts and appear clean. Many prisoners are seen gathered in an open yard in the port of embarkation, which also contains a shelter and a fenced area filled with baggage, in the background.

The Russian troops march in the snow and mud in a column and through snow covered areas. Turkish prisoners of war are seen in a town town and marching along a path in the snow. Armed Russian soldiers are seen near the prisoners. Russian troops place supplies in a snow sled. They are seen transporting soldiers and supplies in ox carts and sledge drawn by cattle. Bactrian camels that are able to withstand the extreme cold are seen transporting gear. The Russian forces move a herd of camels through a village and up a steep mountain road.
