Exercise Cirrus, an air exercise for the Allied air forces in Central Europe, that ran concurrently , part of the time, with Exercise Jupiter, a three-day, French-directed war game involving Allied forces in Europe (principally Germany). A band and honor guard are seen prepared for the arrival of senior air commanders at Wiesbaden Air Force Base, West Germany, involved in Exercise Cirrus. Glimpse of C-47 aircraft lined up on the field. A United States Air Force C-54 transport aircraft taxis into the airfield ramp with engines one and four shut down. A North American T-6 Texan training aircraft is seen in the background. The C-54 circles to where a greeting committee of Allied Air Force officers is standing. Closeup of the aircraft door being opened and a rolling stairs being placed at the doorway. Inside of door displays insignia of States Air Forces Europe (USAFE). Exiting the aircraft is Lieutenant General Lauris Norstad, commander in chief, of USAFE, with headquarters at Wiesbaden, Germany. (On April 2, 1951 he assumed additional duty as commanding general of the Allied Air Forces in Central Europe under the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers in Europe.) He is accompanied by General Bjarne Øen, Chief of the Norwegian Air Force. As they descend the stairs, they are greeted by a group of officers including: Major General Truman H Landan, Deputy Commanding Officer, USAFE ( United states Air force in Europe ), Lieutenant General Robert W Harper, Commander, U.S. Air Force Air Training Command, Colonel Rich, chief of Staff 12th Air Force and Colonel Roberts, Commanding Officer Wiesbaden Air Force Base. After mingling and conversing, Generals Norstad and Oen and their escorts exchange salutes with the color guard. A car arrives and Norstad and Oen step into it and and drive away.

A U.S. Air Force C-121 (Lockheed Constellation) aircraft of the Military Air Transport Service, carrying Dr. Milton Eisenhower, taxis after landing at an airport in South America. (Milton Eisenhower, President of Pennsylvania State University, brother, and advisor to President Dwight D. Eisenhower,is on a good will tour of South America during June 23 through July 29, 1953.) He is seen doffing his black hat, while being escorted by welcomers. Next scene is a view from behind Eisenhower escorted by a large group of people, visiting a construction site. It is followed by closeup from the front showing Dr. Eisenhower, walking with W. Tapley Bennett, Jr., Deputy Director of the Office of South American Affairs, U.S. Department of State. They are accompanied by host country officials, including a military officer. More closeups show Eisenhower and Bennett (in shirtsleeves and sunglasses) talking amiably with workmen at the construction site.

Uprising of 1953 in East Germany: Crowds in East Berlin protest against East German Communist government policies
Unrest in Berlin, East Germany. A large crowd gathers to demonstrate against East German government. A banner carried by some demonstrators calls for free elections. Armed Stasi watch the demonstrators. Demonstrators burn banners and posters and damage public property. People stands on roofs of houses and watch the demonstrations. Armed East German police and some Soviet soldiers watch the demonstrators from their headquarters. Demonstrators tear up and burn signs and start a bonfire. East German Stasi reinforce the checkpoint between the Soviet and American sectors of Berlin. A uniformed Berlin police officer, wearing traditional hat, assists a person who was manhandled by the mob. A building set afire by the demonstrators. View from West Berlin of mob in East Berlin. British Royal Navy Vampire aircraft makes arrested landing and then commences take off roll from the U.S. aircraft carrier Antietam (CV-36) during practice operations in 1953.
British Royal Navy de Havilland Vampire jet aircraft makes an arrested landing on the short angled deck of the American Aircraft Carrier, USS Antietam (CVA-36). Once the arresting gear is removed, a large group of sailors push on the wings of the aircraft to move it backwards into position for takeoff. The jet maneuvers slightly on the deck, then the pilot sets its engine to max power holding brakes and then releases them to begin a takeoff roll.
Milwaukee welcomes major league baseball to the city, 1953
Newsreel clip on the Braves, Milwaukee's first Major League Baseball team, arriving in town for the first time. Girls in theme sweaters hold theme bags to welcome the team. Club owner Lou Perini and Mayor Frank Zeidler wait for the team's arrival. Men lay out a red carpet for the team. Men, women, and children wait to receive and welcome the players. The team arrives at the Union Station. Team manager Charlie Grimm and the players get off the train. A large crowd gathered to witness the event. Players in convertibles ride through city streets crammed with tens of thousands of people. Wisconsin Avenue (renamed Braves Drive for the day) flanked by people on either side. Players, in civilian clothes, wave to the crowds. (Note: the Braves had just moved from Boston. They would stay in Milwaukee only 13 years before moving to Atlanta.)
