Henry Cotton wins inaugural Greenbrier Pro-Am golf tournament at The Greenbrier Resort in 1948

Winners are recognized and receive their awards at the inaugural Greenbrier Professional-Amateur (Pro-Am) golf tournament at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The golf tournament, later known as the Same Snead Festival, finished on April 19, 1948, and served also as a marquee reopening event for The Greenbrier Resort following its use as a U.S. military hospital in World War 2. Meigs holds a silver tray prize commemorating the event. Henry Cotton receives $1800 prize money ($1000 as the top finishing professional with a par 70 score, plus $800 for team competition). The casket containing John Fitzgerald Kennedy's body is carried to an ambulance from Air Force One.

The President's plane Air Force One arrives at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Honor Guard stands at attention as John Kennedy's casket is carried out of plane and placed on a high-lift ramp. The lift is lowered and Honor Guard carries the casket to waiting ambulance.
