World War I German flying ace, Ernst Udet, takes passengers for rides in a modified Fokker D.VII two-seater aircraft,with German markings, during a postwar aviation event at Kbely Airfield, near Prague, Czechoslovakia. Odet, in civilian clothes, stands nearby as two men help a U.S. Army officer, in uniform, don a bulky coverall to protect his clothing. Odet wears his own small flying cap rolled up atop his head, and holds out a helmet to the officer. Men are seen around another German airplane in the background. The next scenes show the aircraft in various aerobatic maneuvers, including loops. Back down on the ground, Odet sits on fuselage with his feet in the cockpit, as another passenger climbs aboard. They are seen taxiing in after the flight. When stopped, the passenger hands his helmet and goggles to a man standing near the airplane, and climbs down on the wing to the ground. The remaining sequence shows Odet, chatting with admirers who surround him as he smokes a cigarette. They include ladies, gentlemen, military officers, and a woman in flight suit and helmet.

The U.S. Army Air Service Fokker C-2A named "Question Mark" being refueled in midair from a Douglas C-1, in 1929.

Mid air refueling experiments in January, 1929. A U.S. Army Air Service Douglas C-1 tanker plane, with hose trailing below it, flies above a modified Atlantic-Fokker C-2A named "Question Mark." The hose is let down to the Question Mark, where a crew member seizes it and makes a connection for fuel transfer. After transfer of fuel is complete, the crew member throws the fuel line off and it is retrieved by the tanker plane. The Question Mark lands at Metropolitan Airport, Van Nuys, California on January 7, 1929, and taxiis in to park. The crew members, including Major Carl A. Spaatz, Captain Ira C. Eaker, Lieutenant Harry A. Halverson, Lieutenant Elwood R.(Pete) Quesada, and Staff Sergeant Roy W. Hooe, all exit the airplane and gather under the wing with well wishers. The five crew members pose for photographs beside their airplane, the "Question Mark." Ground crew tows the aircraft with a tractor.

After being aloft continuously for 6 days, the Question Mark landed at Metropolitan Airport, Van Nuys, California on January 7, 1929. Staff Sergeant Roy W. Hooe, Lieutenant Elwood R.(Pete) Quesada, Lieutenant Harry A. Halverson, Captain Ira C. Eaker and Major Carl A. Spatz, stand beside their airplane.
