German General Paul von Hindenburg exits a building, during World War 1, rendering a sustained Hand salute as he passes guards and other soldiers. Kaiser Wilhelm II is seen standing with Prussian General Hermann von François,in front of a car. A young man, with driving goggles atop his cap, approaches the Emperor and seems to be conveying information about route of travel. The Kaiser's driver, in the car, nods in assent. The Kaiser thanks the young man, shakes hands and turns to enter the car. The Kaiser shifts a cane from his right hand to his crippled left hand, as he enters the car. General von Francois also shakes the young man's hand and turns to enter the car. Complete change of scene shows German army medical corps personnel in white hats, red cross armbands, and red crosses displayed on collars of their uniforms. They are marching, casually, past the camera. Their leader has a dog on a leash, and he salutes as they pass. Some of the corpsmen are equipped with bedrolls. Others carry various items, including some looking like personal luggage.

Railroad and train damaged at German station in World War I

People at a German train station examine railroad torn up and twisted, apparently by an explosion (possibly sabotage?), during World War 1. Damage is confined to the railroad, itself, and a train that has been blown over,on its side, nearby . (The station and buildings are undamaged.) Curious onlookers stand around the damaged tracks and many stand on an embankment overlooking the overturned train. Workmen examine the damage to the train. Several policemen appear busy at the road entrance to the train station. One has a bicycle.

German officers surrender to Allied Forces at end of World War II

Film begins with nighttime bombardments of rockets and artillery. Then at one minute after midnight, on May 9th, 1945, the guns stop. Next, a day earlier, German Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel enters a conference room on May 8th, accompanied by German staff officers. He salutes with his Marshal's baton and takes a seat. He signs surrender document. Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov stands before being seated. British Air Marshal, Sir Arthur Tedder, is seen signing the document along with Marshal Zhukov. General Carl Spaatz, Commander of Strategic Air Forces in Europe, shakes hands with Marshal Zhukov. Several scenes of battlefield cemeteries are seen next. German officer prisoners are seen from the back as they walk with hands behind their heads. Views of Surrendered German senior military officers, including: German Admiral Erich Raeder; German Marshal Walter Model; German Marshal Wilhelm Keitel; and Marshal Hermann Goering (being disarmed).
