A Petty Officer Second Class steps from the building and begins placing them into formation and marching them loosely toward their barracks. A company of other recruits in white uniforms is practicing close-order drill nearby. At the barracks, the Petty Officer briefs them about Navy living, including smoking rules, sick call, how to salute, and other things.
