Evacuation of wounded U.S. Marines at Iwo Jima during World War II

Four U.S. Marines carry a wounded marine on a stretcher towards a Douglas R4D transport airplane. He is laid down in a row next to other injured soldiers on stretchers, before they are lifted, one by one, into the aircraft. A sign that reads, "Hairless Joe" is posted on the inside of the aircraft loading door. The Douglas R4D is then seen taking off.

U.S. landing craft prepare to invade Normandy, France during World War II.

A landing craft labeled "US 51" is seen from its starboard side, with cargo in tow and an American flag flying from its mast. There are also more identical ships in the background, all sailing in the English Channel towards Normandy, France in advance of the D-Day invasion of France. The camera cuts to another direction, which shows many more of the same ship, some also with cargo in tow. In this shot, there is land off in the distance, and a few barrage balloons in the sky above the LCIs. The final shot is of a long convoy of ships far off in the distance.

U.S. landing craft infantry advancing on Normandy, France during D-day in World War II.

Clip begins with footage of an attack transport ship and a tug boat alongside one another, before cutting to a scene of U.S. medical corpsmen lowering medical gear over the side of the ship they are on, presumably onto a smaller ship below that is out of sight. A WW2 LCVP Higgins Boat is then seen maneuvering through semi-choppy water, presumably toward the beaches of Normandy during D-Day invasion. Three groups of planes in formation are then shown far overhead, before the clip cuts back to footage of Higgins Boats. Low level shot across choppy seas of many more Higgins Boats in the water. View of another LCVP moored beside a much larger attack transport ship.

Children at a school in Hawaii practice an air raid drill in a slit trench during World War II

A line of children, led by their teacher, file out of a schoolhouse in Hawaii towards a small trench. The kids begin filing into the trench, stopping about halfway through. They crouch down, presumably into a sheltered position, before all standing up a few moments later and filing out of the other end of the trench. The teachers watch and guide them through this exercise.

Aircraft over Pearl Harbor during Japanese attack in World War 2; destroyed U.S. aircraft on ground

Multiple shots of American F4F Wildcat fighter aircraft at low altitude during or shortly after the bombings on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. One airplane, smoking from its engine, flies directly over the cameraman (possibly a hit Japanese aircraft). U.S. sailors put out the fires that have engulfed aircraft on the ground during the Japanese attack. Many of the airplanes have been totally destroyed.
