Pilot dives toward a settlement in a rural area, with guns firing. He then attacks a coastal town, from the sea. Fires seen burning in the town. He proceeds a short distance inland, where dense smoke billows from numerous fires already burning. He climbs up steeply to avoid the smoke. Next, he attacks a coastal town, from the land side. Fire is burning as passes over it. Final seconds show strafing rounds striking a tall structure in a built-up town.

U.S. Army Air Forces personnel of the 354th Fighter Group, the Pioneer Mustang Fighter Group, with several horses on a field in France during World War 2. A pilot, in uniform,tries unsuccessfully to mount a small horse, bareback. Later, after lassoing a large horse,with help from others, he approaches and slowly gains its confidence enough to slip a training bridle on and mount it. He then expertly rides the horse bareback, even managing to ride at a canter. (The field is near the town of Criqueville, France, close to the Normandy Beachhead.)

Nine pilots of the 354th Fighter Group are lined up at attention in a field. A photographer clicks pictures. Two officers stand beside a table on which medals are kept. Captain Beerbower marches towards Lt Gen Brereton. The Lt Gen decorates him. Lt Gen Brereton decorates a major, a captain and a lieutenant, shaking hands with them. The company stands at attention. The honored men stand back in a line. General Brereton is seen, later, conversing with Captain Beerbower (wearing Silver Star). Among those decorated in this ceremony were: Capt. Don M. Beerbower (Silver Star); Capt. Wallace N. Emmer, Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) and Lieutenant Carl Bickel (DFC).
