Opening scene shows Soviet people seated aroung a long table. As names are called, individuals step forward and receive small boxes containing medals in recognition of their contributions to the nation during World War 2. Narrator announces their names as they come forward. Uniformed members of the military as well as civilians, receive the awards. Change of scene shows a seated group of army soldiers in uniform, as they listen to an officer speaking enthusiastically to them from a small group in front of them. They stand and applaud. A woman soldier in uniform addresses them. Camera focuses on several women soldiers in the large group. Another soldier also addresses the group. He raises a fist in emphasis as he speaks. The soldier audience stands and applauds.

Film begins with picture of famous Soviet statue of Worker and Kolkhoz Woman holding hammer and sickle, respectively, over their heads. The title,"View of the World Soviet," is superimposed. A slate gives a title in English: "The Commanders in Chief." Commander in Chief of North-West Forces, Marshal Kliment Voroshilov is seen meeting and exchanging handshakes and salutes with several Soviet soldiers in a wide open field during World War 2. Russian tanks drive past, raising lots of dust. and Commander in Chief of Western Front, Semyon Timoshenko at the front with troops. Commander in Chief of South-West Forces, Marshal Semyon Mikhaylovich Budenny, watches with several officers and soldiers, from behind a Soviet armored vehicle, as a BT-7 tank passes them. Next, Chief of Western Front, Marshal Semyon Timoshenko, visits troops at the front. Accompanied by officers of his staff, he bends down to observe something with soldiers at the front. Film entitled: "Replace the Men," begins showing women at drafting desks working on technical machine drawings, during World War 2. They all rise from their seats, don their coats and leave. Next, a woman is seen in a machine shop, being shown by a machinist,how to use calipers to gauge the diameter of a steel part turning in a lathe. Young men in the Soviet Union train to fight against Germany during World War II
Young men stand in a formation in the USSR during World War 2. They are all wearing dark trowsers and white sweat shirts. At a signal from their leader, they all reach down and each picks up two simulated hand grenades from the ground. Closeup of the "grenades." The then run through woods and jump over a rustic fence. Some pair up and use their joined hands to boost others into the air and over the fence. They leap over a fallen tree and then jump down a steep hill and up another. They run into a river, wade rapidly across it, and climb up the opposite bank, where they flop down throwing their "grenades" as they do so. They get up again and continue running.
