The film 'The Story of Coal' shows the process of mining of coal in the United States. Workers use a diamond drill to determine the depth of coal seams and their thickness. Workers move the drilling mechanism backward and hoist rods from a hole. Two workers hold a rod in hand. A tractor parked in the background. A collection of ten feet long cores.
