German Naval war ensign displayed on an Auxiliary Cruiser (armed surface raider disguised as commercial ship) during World War 2. Crew members with binoculars observe a British commercial vessel in the Indian Ocean and signal her to stop. They fire a warning shot from one of the cruiser's 150mm guns. Crew and passengers abandon their ship and make their way in lifeboats to the German cruiser. One of the lifeboats is partially filled with water. Others arrive at the side of the cruiser where their occupants, including many civilian passengers, are brought aboard the cruiser, which continues firing at the abandoned ship with a 15cm L/45 C13 gun.
