School students visit the Metropolitan Police Department at the Henry J. Daly Building (previously known as the Municipal Center) at 300 Indiana Avenue, NW, Washington D.C. A school bus pulls in front of the Henry J. Daly Building. A police officer welcomes students dressed in prep school uniforms upon arrival. The guide shows the students a fingerprint card and notes, “So, you can see it is very important to stay out of trouble. A single foolish act may follow you for the rest of your life.” Students raise their hands to volunteer for a fingerprint taking. From a short documentary film entitled, "Neptune's Realm" depicting a shellback initiation ceremony aboard the USS Indianapolis in November 1936. In this clip, slates provide background on the ceremony. Then there are scenes of the USS Indianapolis (CA-35) in New York. The ship leaves the dock with Statue of Liberty in the background. Crowd gives a standing ovation to baseball pitcher Whitey Ford as he retires from Yankees, 1967
Baseball pitching great Edward Charles "Whitey" Ford announces his retirement in the spring of 1967. Dressed in a civilian suit and tie, he is seen running from the Yankee dugout, past Mickey Mantle, #7, onto the field, and acknowledging the acclaim of the fans crowding Yankee stadium. Narrator notes that Ford retires with more wins than any other pitcher in Yankee team history. Whitey Ford stands in the infield, as fans rise from their seats to give him a standing ovation.
