Winners are recognized and receive their awards at the inaugural Greenbrier Professional-Amateur (Pro-Am) golf tournament at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The golf tournament, later known as the Same Snead Festival, finished on April 19, 1948, and served also as a marquee reopening event for The Greenbrier Resort following its use as a U.S. military hospital in World War 2. They are joined by the tying first-place team of Johnny Bulla and his amateur partner John Simms Kelly (Shipwreck Kelly). Also with Kelly is his wife Brenda (nee Brenda Frazier). Meigs holds a silver tray prize commemorating the event. Henry Cotton receives $1800 prize money ($1000 as the top finishing professional with a par 70 score, plus $800 for team competition).
