Brothers John and Kenneth Hunter fly over the Sky Harbor airport,Northbrook, Illinois, in their Stinson SM-1 airplane,"The City of Chicago," preparing to land after a record-setting endurance flight lasting from June 11 through July 4, 1930. They are forced to discontinue their flight due to oil filter and leak problems. Huge crowds are gathered around the Sky Harbor Club House as they fly overhead. Aerial view of the their Stinson SM-1, with "The City of Chicago" painted on its fuselage. The crowds rush across the grassy field and past other airplanes at the airport, as the Hunters plane touches down.But the brothers continue taxiing until they reach a hangar. The brothers are seen with local airport officials near the hangar where they parked. John, covered in oil, that spewed in the cockpit from a broken oil pressure gauge, poses next to two women.The brothers pose together.They set a new endurance record of 553 hours and 41minutes, supported by inflight refueling from their brothers, Albert and Walter, from another Stinson SM-1 airplane (not shown).
