German glider pilots with sailplanes compete in the Rhön gliding contest at the Wasserkuppe Hill in Germany. Baron Von Freyberg is seen settling himself at the controls of a Harth-Messerschmitt glider. Next, the glider is launched and those pushing it off duck for cover as it ascends. It flies well but fairly low above the ground. Another scene shows the glider with men holding each wing tip as they run to launch it. But the glider doesn't develop enough speed and lift, to make it off the ground.
