An honor guard is formed and spectators assembled as King Paul I pays homage by laying a memorial wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier at Syntagma Square, Athens, Greece. Three Greek Generals are seen.The King then reviews a parade in his honor, standing close to the street, in front of the Tomb of the Unknown,flanked by sentries wearing Evzones uniforms. The parade includes children, wounded war veterans, accompanied by nurses, motorcycle troops, armored vehicles,tanks,and marching troops,some accompanied by dogs. A Navy military band plays in the parade followed by marching sailors and boys in sailors uniforms. An Army band followed by marching Army troops brings up the rear of the parade. The Royal Family then departs, as they arrived in an open car displaying the Royal crest on a flag. A civilian official places a wreath at the tomb of the unknown. Many civilian officials assemble at the tomb. A sentry in Evzone uniform stands guard and executes a military maneuver in front of the tomb.
Greek athletes run in formation to Syntagma Square and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. A large crowd of spectators watches from across the street. Three athletes accompany an official who lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The runners then depart in formation, followed by motorcycle police escorting the Royal Family in their open car. King Paul is then seen approaching the Tomb of the Unknown, from the side and then laying a wreath. Assembled several paces behind him, are several high ranking military officers and civilian officials. A troop of ceremonial Tomb sentries are lined up to his left, all dressed in the traditional Evzones uniforms. The bas relief figure of a dying ancient Greek warrior is seen on the wall of the enclosure. The King and his entourage move toward the street, where a parade ensues, led by men in white shirts who dip their flag in salute. Civilian marchers carry the traditional Greek Land Flag of white cross on blue field.
