Opening scene shows cadets at the Imperial Japanese Military Academy in Tokyo, practicing Kendo martial art using bamboo swords (shinai) and wearing protective armor (bōgu). Next the cadets run an obstacle course. We see them leaping over a wall and then running over wooden poles across a deep open pit. They then leap another wall and climb out of a deep ditch and over a stone wall to the top. Next, students are seen demonstrating kendo in a courtyard at the a Military School in Kobe, Japan. Many spectators watch the demonstration.
Views of Japanese cities and lifestyle before World War II. Views of a train crossing the Osaka bridge, traffic on road, modern buildings, towers and industries in Osaka. Aerial views, elevated building views, and views from boat moving in water and under bridges busy with traffic including streetcars or trolleys. Mass calisthenics by girls and school children who work in a cotton textile factory. Views of buildings of the textile factory as well as dormitory buildings that house the Japanese workers of the factory. Men and women workers entering factory or housing areas of the manufacturing plant. Women workers at cotton spinning machines and automated loom devices on massive factory production floor. Massive bolts of finished cotton cloth and fabric are completed in production at the factory as men and women workers watch and tend. Department store crowds browse modern goods in department stores of Tokyo and Osaka. Shoppers ride an escalator to upper floors of a modern department store. A woman examines a bolt of cloth presented by a deparment store worker. Shoppers eat in a cafe restaurant. Underground views of subway system bringing shoppers from near and far. Train at subway station. Point of view shot from front of electric train riding on tracks of subway system. Train system from Osaka to Kobe is shown running, and views of boats at sea and beaches in sight of the railroad lines.

View of the first three U.S. B-52 bombers (of a force of 15) landing at U-Tapao Airbase, Thailand on April 10, 1967. These bombers hit targets in Vietnam on their way to U-Tapao. (The entire force arrived during the period from April through July, 1967, on temporary assignment from the Strategic Air Command 4433rd Bomb Wing at Anderson Air Force Base, Guam.) The B-52s are under the command of the SAC 3rd Air Division. The aircraft land with wing flaps down and deploy drag chutes to slow their ground rolls.Officers of the 4258th Strategic Wing,and Royal Thai Air Force greet the arriving aircrews.
