The invention looks like a saucer shaped surf board. He puts on his goggles and gets onto the board. The contraption moves in the water. Anderson dives into the water on the board and resurfaces. It is driven by a compressed air motor and can dives like a submarine. It is designed to go up to the depth of 300 feet.
The Scandinavian Clubs of New York choose Christine Jorgensen "Woman of the Year" in New York City. Christine Jorgensen, a transgender woman, accepts the award from a Club official. She addresses the gathering and thanks her doctors and her friends who she says are responsible for her success.
The Brooklyn Dodgers or "The Bums", as they were nicknamed, practice in Vero Beach Florida. The team trains under the supervision of manager Charlie Dressen.
