This "American Queen of Beauty" pageant was sponsored by Madison Square Garden, and held only this one time, in 1934). Contestants in swim suits move around the judges. The judges consisting of experts are seated on the center of the stage. Helen Mack, who was Miss New York State, is seen being given the title of American Queen of Beauty after she defeated 3,000 girls from 30 states. She holds the silver winner's cup.

Rocket motor designs by International scientists and inventors, reflecting early work by German rocket researchers

Designs by various international scientists and inventors who have contributed to solving the problems of rocket motor development, based on the German preparatory work. Their combustion chamber designs owe much to the German pioneers in the field. Shown are design sketches by Russian scientist, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (Ziolkowsky) in 1914; French inventor Henri Melot, in 1920; German Friedrich Zander, in 1931; Bull, 1932; The American Rocket Society, with several designs from 1932; and The Cleveland Rocket Society. Views of rocket combustion research activity by Ernst Loebell of the Cleveland Rocket Society in 1933. He is seen outdoors in the snow with his apparatus. View of Loebell's test firing stand, and a picture of an actual test firing, outdoors. Members, of the 1934 U.S. Army Air corps Alaska Flight, patronizing local hotel and shops in Fairbanks, Alaska. A sign identifies the Nordale Hotel (Slate notes the extreme high cost of things in Fairbanks, Alaska, such as: 25 cents for a cup of coffee and one dollar for a haircut, much higher than in the lower 48 in 1934.) Some of the fliers eat at the lunch counter of a local tavern. One leaves the tavern and poses for the camera, in front of a barber shop. He holds up a silver dollar, and walks into the shop.
