It is followed by a tractor pulling a pavilion float carrying three young women. Signage on the float indicates it represents the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). IOOF slogans seen on side of float include "Visit the sick. Heal the Sick. Bury the dead. Educate the Orphan." Dates "1819 to 1919" are seen, marking the fraternity's centennial (100th) year. Banner atop float is difficult to read but appears to list lodge numbers 38 and 337 and "Rebekah" and "WA". (Location possibly Spokane Washington?) Other decorated vehicles follow. One is a tractor driven by a woman, who is followed by two soldiers in uniform driving a roadster without a rear body. A man and woman dressed as George and Martha Washington walk along the parade route. They are followed by several cars.

People barter goods in Suffern, New York, turning to old fashioned trade and barter commerce during the Great Depression. People gather to exchange goods. A noticeboard with various papers on it with people offering goods for barter. A paper reads 'wanted: office furniture for 1 toin of coal." Men and women exchange goods. A man trades a live turkey. A woman takes a goat and gives a painting in return to a man. A man looks at an overcoat. A man carries a live duck and a basket under each arm. The duck tries to get away and man catches hold of him. He holds the duck by its neck.

At lower Manhattan, derricks and cranes can be seen and construction activity associated with the building of the Brooklyn-Battery tunnel. Among skyscrapers seen are the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building, both further uptown, in the background. Docks and piers are seen along the waterfront. B&O Railroad barge tied to a pier.
