Police arrest hippies during 1971 May Day Protests against Vietnam War, Washington D.C.

United States Park Police and Washington DC Metropolitan Police mobilize to close down the 1971 May Day anti-war protesters’ gathering in West Potomac Park. Helicopter in sky at night. Police car at night. United States Park Police and Washington Metropolitan Police, dressed in riot gear, raid the West Potomac Park in early morning, giving orders to campers to vacate the park by noon or face arrest. Police vans arrive in West Potomac Park. Hippies carry their belongings as anti Vietnam war protest ends. Hippies with trumpet and clarinet. Police officer gives out orders to hippies using a megaphone, saying those "who don't leave the area are in violation of the law and will be arrested." Hippies carry their backpacks, paraphernalia such as flags, and walk out of park on foot. Some leave the campsite by car. A police officer talks on walkie talkie. A vandalized police van, with graffiti written on it reading, "VC RULE IT," “MAY DAY”, “MAO”, and “PIG” drives away. Volkswagen Type 2 camper vans drive away from park. Protesters pack up their belongings and leave along with their dogs. A female Metropolitan Police officer holds a woman hippie who is shouting insults and expletives at the policewoman, saying, "why don't you get off your phony eyelashes!" and "Take off your girdle and your false tits!" and “stop feeling me up you f*ggot woman!!" A policeman asks the girl her name and she swears when responding, “None of your business a**hole!” Camera zooms close to hippy's face as she shouts “You are all f*cking pigs! All of you!” at the police.

Stage magician James Randi, AKA “The Amazing Randi” talks about Harry Houdini .

Magician James Randi, professionally known as “The Amazing Randi”, interviews with television host, Dennis James. Dennis James, holding a book on Harry Houdini, asked James Randi if “Houdini was rigged?”, to which James Randi answers “Houdini above all was an entertainer. And if in some cases he had to prepare some piece of apparatus and present them more or less to challenge the intelligence or ingenuity of his audience, or whether he would use some legitimate props, as we know that he did- in the way of handcuffs, and some packing cases and straitjackets- whether he had to do it by one of those two means, he still entertained people”. On whether magic tricks are done by actual magic, James Randi says, “I must admit that things are not really done by magic. I hate to make this admission, they'll hate me for it but it’s true”. James Randi talks about how Harry Houdini’s legacy affects his career as a magician. “I could never hope to be another Houdini. I have never tried to be another Houdini. I’ve tried to be Randi instead of Houdini but it’s still is quite a wall to scale...the man who walked through walls...I’ve always felt he left me standing in the shadow of that wall.” says James Randi.

Cartoon animation “Private Snafu The Infantry Blues” depicts working conditions of various service branches of the United States Armed Forces in World War 2

American cartoon animation “Private Snafu” shows the difficulty of each United States Armed Forces service branches- the United States Army Infantry and Tank Corps, the US Navy and the US Air Forces- in World War 2. “All the Air Force gets the glory and the Navy gets the cheers” laments Private Snafu. Marching through various terrain such as mud, snow and jungle, Private Snafu complains about his infantry work. Private Snafu wades through jungle river, until a crocodile emerges carrying his rucksack. Private Snafu singing “I’ve got the infantry blues” while his boots are depicting with sounding train horns. Mountain range with sign saying “Rest room 18,000 MI”. Private Snafu laments about being a “dogface”, wishes he had joined the Tank Corps as "they do their fighting on a nice, soft seat". A crass, cigar-smoking miniature G.I. fairy called the “Technical Fairy (First Class)” appears and grants Private Snafu’s wish. As a member of the Tank Corps, Private Snafu rides a tank across rugged terrain with difficulty controlling the tank. Hanging from the main gun of the tank, he wishes with regret that he had joined the Navy. The Technical Fairy grants Private Snafu’s wish and teleports him to the Navy. Private Snafu rides PT boat 13 through choppy waters. Private Snafu’s stomach is depicted with choppy waters. “Give me air!” cries Private Snafu after coughing up water while riding on two fish. A water-skiing Technical Fairy grants his wish, teleporting Private Snafu to a P-38 airplane. Private Snafu has difficulty controlling altitude of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning plane and runs into a mountain. The cockpit falls from the mountain, where Private Snafu finds himself back in the Infantry. “I see you’re back sir, here is your pack sir.” says the Technical Fairy as he hands over a pack to Private Snafu. “All the roads are pretty rough, parlay-voo,” sings the Technical Fairy, to the tune of “Hinky Dinky Parlez Vou (Mademoiselle from Armentières)”. “and all the services are tough, parlay-voo” sings back Private Snafu as he and the Technical Fairy march together. The Technical Fairy and Private Snafu sing “any "soldier or gob" should "finish the job"- Hinky Dinky Parlez Vou” as they march away.
