Fourth Liberty Loan parade and dedication of the Altar of Liberty in Madison Square, New York City.

Fifth Avenue, in New York City, decorated with American flags, Fourth Liberty Loan banners, and flags of Allied nations, from 51st Street to Madison Square. Japanese flags are on buildings. Military units march along 5th Avenue to the Altar of Liberty, designed by Thomas Hastings, that is the focal point for the 4th Liberty Loan Campaign. Flags of the 22 Allied Nations fly on poles at Madison Square. Vice President Thomas Marshall stands on sidewalk by the Altar of Liberty with several officials and an Army chaplain in uniform. A contingent of Belgian Army officers marches followed by U.S. Military officers and diplomats and officials in automobiles. The Belgian officers greet civilian officials. LA Dodgers beat Chicago White Sox in 6th (final) game of baseball 1959 World Series

Newsreel clip entitled "Dodgers Win World Series," shows highlights from game 6 of the 1959 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. Shot of packed stands at Chicago's Comiskey Park. White Sox ace pitcher Early Wynn gives up walk to Wally Moon and home run to Duke Snider. Snider seen rounding third as announcer notes this is his 11th World Series home run, a National League record. In fourth inning, Wynn gives up run-scoring hit to Maury Wills and is replaced by Dick Donovan, who gives up run-scoring double to Charlie Neal and home run to Wally Moon. White Sox first baseman Ted Kluszewski, in his famous sleeveless jersey, slugs a three-run homer into the right field stands to score the Sox' only runs of the day. Dodgers bring on pitcher Larry Sherry to retire Luis Aparicio and end the White Sox threat. Dodgers go on and win 9-3 to clinch the series ( their first world championship since leaving Brooklyn for the West Coast after the 1957 season).

Jim Londos wins the wrestling bout against Jim McMillen at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Jim Londos retains wrestling championship after defeating challenger, Jim McMillen, at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.. Large crowd of spectators gather at the Madison Square Garden. The wrestling match between Jim Londos and McMillen begins. At one point both wrestlers fall out of the ring into the spectators seated at ringside and the referee and spectators help them back into the ring. Londos picks McMillen up in an aerial pinwheel maneuver and throws him to the mat, where, under the watchful eye of the referee, who is lying on the mat next to the contestants, Londos finally manages to pin McMillen and successfully defend his title.

Various views of 60 thousand Labor union members of the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) as they parade on 8th Avenue in Manhattan, New York City, in a march to Madison Square Garden, where many are seen entering. The Garden Marquee advertises the CIO Rally attended by Mayor O'Dyer and CIO President, Philip Murray. This CIO rally is to protest the recent passage of the Taft-Hartley Labor Bill and to demand its veto by President Truman. Brief glimpse inside the packed Madison Square Garden, with bright light panning over the gathering. (Note: Members of the AFL labor union held a similar march and rally, in Manhattan, 6 days earlier, on June,4th). Scene shifts completely to CIO members parading in protest at a different (unidentified) city. Business establishments seen include Kipens Hardware and Busse's Drug Store.
