F4U Corsairs or U.S. Marine Aircraft Group 11, bombard Japanese positions on Prostitute Ridge, Peleliu, Palau, during World War 2. They fly a number of sorties, dropping general purpose bombs on fortified Japanese positions, very close to U.S. Marine positions. Marine pilots fly low and slow, with landing gear extended to assure accuracy in their bombing.

Wounded Japanese prisoners of war on litters and ambulatory and uninjured POWs at a makeshift barbed wire enclosure on Paleliu, during World War II. (Some of these may have been Korean and Okinawan laborers.) Marines interrogate one of the prisoners. The ranking POW takes charge of the prisoners. He orders them into formation.
U.S. 1st Division marines during final phases of initial mopping-up operations on Peleliu in World War 2. They have several Japanese prisoners of war and are trying to get others to surrender. A marine using a pair of binoculars to locate Japanese hideout. Other marines crawl through underbrush toward area where Japanese soldiers are holding out. One throws a hand grenade.

After taking the airfield, Marines of the U.S. 1st Marine Division examine dead Japanese next to what appears to be a demolished Japanese light tank (turret is missing completely). Next scene shows destroyed Japanese light tank, Type 95 Ha-Go. View from U.S. tank moving towards the airfield, where several Marine 1st Battalion M4A2 Tanks are seen. The area is strewn with wreckage and destroyed buildings. A combat photographer squats in the sand next to two Marines and a tank, as he removes his movie camera from a bag, and examines it.
