President Franklin D. Roosevelt is being assisted on the seat of a jeep,by a group of men in pith helmets, on a beach. They climb on the jeep with the President. Next, the President and his associates drive slowly in the jeep, reviewing a large formation of U.S. soldiers assembled on the sand. Change of scene shows the President seated in a chair during a break in the Casablanca Conference. Behind him is General George Marshall, the Chief of Staff of the United States Army, Brigadier General William H. Wilbur, and Major General George Patton. The President reads a citation for the award of the Medal of Honor for General Wilbur. General Patton then steps forward and places the Medal of Honor around General Wilbur's neck, as the President adjusts it in the front. Scene shifts to Natal, Brazil, where President Roosevelt is seen seated aboard the USS Humboldt in the Potenji River harbor in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, where he visits President of Brazil, GetĂșlio Vargas, on his way home from the Casablanca Conference. Seated on the ship's deck are: Presidential assistant,Harry Hopkins, President of Brazil Getulio Vargas,holding a cane, President Roosevelt, and United States ambassador Jefferson Caffery seated in chairs as Brazilian Navy and Army officers stand behind them. Later, President Roosevelt is seen, wearing a black armband, in a jeep. Brazilian Navy and Army officers stand around the vehicle. The Chief of the Brazilian Army talks at length with the President. Other officers in the vehicle. They finally proceed followed by armed guards on vehicle behind them. (World War II period)
