Lou and Eleanor Hamilton and family comes out of their house in New Jersey, enter their custom mobile home (a converted bus) and start traveling. While Lou drives, Eleanor sits next to him with their dog on her lap. While they travel, we see their son shaving and their daughter making tea and playing cards. The narrator explains that traveling for them is possible only because Lou created a portable dialysis machine for use by Eleanor, who has kidney disease. Various shots of Lou constructing the machine are seen. He uses a drill press to drill metal.
