American soldiers of the First Special Service Force (FSSF, or sometimes referred to as SSF or "The Devil's Brigade") (elite joint American-Canadian commando unit) walk in single file along a road and through high grasses, passing barbed wire or razor wire entanglements. The U.S. Army soldiers are carrying backpacks, gear, and rifles.
Soldiers are outside a coop. One soldier feeds pigeons outside coop and enters the coop. Pigeons in the coop. Soldier selects two pigeons and places capsule on their legs. Pigeons are placed into special carriers. Carriers are picked up by jeep and driver. Pigeons are taken to a distant area for a flight mission to familiarize them with the surrounding territory. Soldiers open the special carrier and freed the pigeons for flight mission. A message is inserted into the capsule on the pigeon's leg and the pigeon is released. Soldier takes pigeon from the coop. Message is removed from capsule and soldier makes entry in code book. (World War II period).
U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower disembarks from a beach landing craft and gets into a Jeep on the beach with Admiral Hewitt during World War II. The Jeep is driven away. They arrive at the 5th Army headquarters area and meet with Lieutenant General Mark W. Clark and Major General Alfred M. Gruenther for strategy discussions. Military photographers and other troops are gathered around the commanders as they greet.
