'The story of camp Century: The city under ice' Location of Camp Century on a map of Greenland. Distance of the camp from North Pole. United States Army engineers arrive in Greenland in 1959 to set up Camp Century. Officers survey the snow covered area Engineer looks through leveling instrument. Convoy of sleds carrying construction, food and other supplies arrives, cranes unload supply boxes. Wanigans also bring in supply boxes. Men with sled dogs on their backs enter wanigans and a caterpillar tractor pulls a series of wanigans. Men board polar cabs. Light aircraft lifts off. A cook in a kitchen inside a vehicle cuts meat. Soldiers being served food, men sleep in navy bunks. A convoy on the move.
United States aircraft lands at construction site of Camp Century in Greenland. Polar cabs also arrive and officers greet each other. Officers at a meeting discuss the plans for construction of the Camp. A senior officer presides over the meeting and an animation of the camp indicates communication trench, area for housing, support facilities. Officer smokes a cigar as he conducts the meeting.

Men drill water from an underground hole. A man works on electrical heating system. A man gets out from an escape hatch to be used in case of a fire. Men enjoy skiing and other activities of recreation. A sled dog plays with a football in the snow.
