Contestants of a bathing beauty contest arrive on ramp, perform and retire. The contest is in a coastal beach area. The crowd around the ramp cheers. Contestants wear bathing suits. They also wear tag with a number on it. A motion picture camera-man under an umbrella covers the event. Authorities pose for a photograph. Contestant number 19, 22 and 13 appear on stage. A pumping station in a half mile deep mine. It pumps out 2400 gallons per minute. Pumping machinery at the station. Blades of a fan move. Stairs near the fans.
Planes move in air. Riggers dive from plane. Many parachutes in sky. Riggers land on ground. An Army personnel watches riggers landing. Training session of paratroopers. Paratroopers doing push-ups under supervision. Paratroopers run on a road during training. They jump off from a 34 feet mock tower alone and then in a group of seven. The paratroopers are tied with safety ropes during these jumps. In the next part, paratroopers are trained to jump from a 250 feet tower. Next they jump from plane at a height of 1250 feet. It is then, the men qualify as paratroopers. Paratroopers receive wings during graduation ceremony and are assigned air-borne division. Two officials check documents. Arexy, Company Commander interviews Parker, a paratrooper.
Selected paratroopers are addressed by Director prior to their training as riggers. Director's speech includes brief summary of their 3 months training. Riggers are trained to lay out parachute without tangles. Parker, a rigger under training tries to lay parachute but cannot remove tangles. An instructor comes to help him and guides him to lay parachute properly. Riggers practice laying parachutes. Next, the Instructor guides them to pack parachutes. Parker along with other riggers pack parachute. All riggers are given parachutes. They lay and pack parachutes

A part of parachute canopy patched is displayed. Parker, a rigger operates a heavy duty sewing machine to repair harness of the parachute. Suspension lines are sown on a zigzag sewing machine. Hook is attached on a parachute on a hook and eye attachment sewing machine. The rib-cord is reinforced on a bar tacking machine. Holes are darned in the parachute canopy on a darning machine. Riggers darn holes with hands. They also replace hooks and harness assemblies. Parker works in the maintenance shed on a table. He checks canopy and notes on a pad. He also checks the suspension lines and harness assembly.
