Prison riots in 1952 include North Korean POWs in Koji and U.S. prison riots in Michigan and New Jersey.
Major prison riots of the year 1952. North Korean POW soldiers of the Korean War stage a mass rebellion at POW camps in Koji islands and Pongam Island, off South Korea. U.S. and U.N. guards quell riots at the camps, resulting in death of North Korean prisoners and injuries. Medics are seen treating injured North Korean prisoners. U.N. guards escort prisoners in lines after the riots. Scene shifts to the the United States where damaged prison property in Michigan and New Jersey is seen after prison riots. Broken window glasses and furniture strewn about in a multi-story room of the New Jersey State Reformatory. Scene changes to Southern Michigan State Prison, also called Jackson State Prison, following riots there. Four prisoners including ring leader Earl Ward (second from left) are seen inside the building behind bars, during the standoff where they seized a cell block and held guards as hostages. Film opens showing New Jersey National Guard soldiers returning to their training camp (Camp Fielder) at Sea Girt, New Jersey. Led by an army band, they march in formation along a sandy road with high berms on both sides.Glimpses of the marching troops from the side. As they proceed, toward the camera, they reach a point where they begin to march double-time. Scene shifts to a gate of the camp, where family, friends, and well wishers are gathered and a banner reading "Welcome" is stretched across the entrance. Led by officers on horseback, and the colors, the troops march through the gate. Next, soldiers are seen greeted by women family members. One soldier standing beside a tent, lifts his daughters, one at a time, and kisses them. He motions to his wife to pose with them. She does and he kisses her. Next, soldiers are seen briefly, with shouldered rifles, marching in formation. Scene shifts to another area of the Camp (named Camp Fielder for then Governor James F. Fielder). Here, army officers assist President Woodrow Wilson, to mount a horse. The President is dressed formally, including top hat. He poses for the camera. The President then rides with officers to review the National Guard troops drawn up in formation. He salutes with his top hat over heart, as they pass a color guard. He is next seen seated on horseback next to a commanding officer (possibly Colonel Daniel T. Mather) as they review the New Jersey National Guard troops passing in review.

He speaks about enemy agents sent to the United States to undermine the war effort. Scene shifts to a 1940 nighttime view of New York City with lights on in its buildings. A picture of Adolf Hitler is seen on his wall. Near Chicago, a wooden sign reads, "Camp Hindenburg., Two miles." American Nazi youth are seen parading there. A newspaper shows a picture of Nazi youth at Camp Nordland, in New Jersey where young American Nazi girls are seen parading. In Yaphank, on long Island, New York, American Nazis are seen parading. The head of the German-American Bund, Fritz Kuhn, is seen at an outdoor podium giving a speech, while surrounded and guarded by uniformed Bund members. He is enthusiastically applauded by members of the audience. Several women with babies in carriages, cross at a corner in New York City. Some receive notices being passed out by a young man, announcing a "Mass Demonstration for true Americans" (to be held at Madison Square Garden). A swastika appears on each notice. View from a high point overlooking a crowd of 22 thousand American Nazis gathered in Madison Square Garden, on Feb. 20, 1939. An honor guard parades as drummers play from the stage. A mass of men holding American flags, and one holding a banner showing a swastika and words in German. Audience members all render the Nazi salute and shout "Heil." Files in the FBI offices labeled "German Agents." The file of Walter Kappe, one of the leaders of the Chicago Free Society of Teutonia and German American Bund is shown. Narrator, Hoover, says, " he was a Lieutenant in the German Army and the Leader of German sabotage in the United States."
