American soldiers returning home after end of World War 1. A railroad passenger train carrying them pulls into a train station. Among those waiting on the station platform are a police officer and a physician, carrying his medical bag. They and others wave to arriving soldiers. A woman in red cross nurses uniform hands out pamphlets to the soldiers as they step from the train. Soldiers form up loosely, holding their mess kit cups. A military band plays in welcome. Soldiers mingle with family and friends who greet them.
