Large welcoming crowd near the parked helicopter take photos, standing in rain. Secret servicemen walk ahead of the Nixons. Onlookers huddle under umbrellas and other protection. Cameramen protect their equipment. The President ignores the rain as he mingles with the folks along the pathway. The Nixons are escorted to a place in the viewing stands where they stand up, along with the crowd of spectators to watch the launch of the Apollo 12 moon mission.

A welcoming crowd gathered outside in a light rain, awaiting arrival of President and Mrs. Nixon to witness the launch of the Apollo-12 moon mission. A helicopter lands carrying advance party of White House staff and others, who quickly exit and walk along a roped corridor through the waiting crowd. Secret Service agents in tan rain coats patrol the pathway. Moments later, Marine One, the helicopter carrying the Presidential party, lands. The crowd stands close to the helicopter as Pat Nixon steps from it, followed by President Nixon and their daughter, Patricia. The President and First Lady immediately begin mingling with people lined up against the ropes, under watchful eyes of Secret Service agents.
