Upon arrival in New York City, by steamer from England, a British war bride Ethel (Barcham) Johnson with her child Carol Ann Johnson, is interviewed with her former American serviceman husband Herbert W. Johnson. She says she is on her way to Kansas City and feels nervous. Her husband says they are going to spend a few days in New York. The wife says she is looking forward to meeting her mother-in-law, whom she hopes will like her.

Nearly seventy four thousand spectators gather to witness the game of the century between unbeaten Notre Dame, and the Army team from Westpoint who have won 25 consecutive games. The audiences also include Major General Taylor, Academy Superintendent watching Army (horse) versus Notre Dame (terrier dog) mascots greeting. The voiceover commentator is shown on camera. Secretary of war Patterson and Navy Secretary James Forrestal also lend their support to Army. General Jacob Devers and the Postmaster General Robert Hannegan also turn out to cheer.
