A matron finds a homeless tramp sleeping in her bed

A homeless tramp breaks into the Wm. Waldorf Astor mansion. He walks back and forth a luxurious vacant bedroom as he talks. He smokes and checks himself out in front of the vanity mirror. The tramp sleeps in the four-poster bed before a matron and her maid walks into the room. The woman removes her hat and gives it to her maid. She checks herself in front of the mirror before retiring to bed. She discovers the tramp in her bed and runs out of her room for the maid. The maid enters and finds the stranger in her mistress’ room. She runs out of the room and returns with her mistress and a police officer. The policeman apprehends and takes the tramp away. The policeman hits the tramp with a stick as they leave the room. The tramp buys a newspaper from a newspaper boy and reads it. He kicks the newspaper boy and waves his newspaper in the air.

The demon Mephistopheles commands Faust to murder Marguerite in dramatized scenes

Stage actors perform “Faust”. Faust talks to Marguerite, a young maiden when a demon named Mephistopheles enters the room, offering his sword to Faust, commanding him to murder Marguerite. Mephistopheles slices Marguerite’s head, causing her and Faust to magically switch places. Mephistopheles tries to touch Faust’s head, only for the couple to revert back to their places. Mephistopheles attacks Faust, turning him into a skeleton. Mephistopheles drops his sword and turns to Marguerite, who disappears into thin air. The skeleton also disappears. A priest appears out of nowhere, scaring the demon away. Faust and Marguerite appears back in the room where the priest marries them.

A magician comes on stage at a theater. He bows in front of the camera, removes his coat and hat. The magician folds his coat, causing it to disappear into thin air. The magician performs a second trick- he takes a white handkerchief from his pocket, holds the handkerchief over his knees. A pile of tissue paper suddenly appears on top of a chair. The magician takes up the tissue paper and shakes it a few times and three live geese fly out upon the floor. The magician pulls out a black cloth over a basin. Live small animals, geese, and a child appear in the basin.

C-47 planes airdrop containers; soldiers retrieve supplies from drop site (WW2)

A group of United States Douglas C-47 Skytrain Military transport planes in flight. They air drop special containers by parachute over Newbury, Berkshire, England during World War II. American rocket boat tests. Malcolm Pope fits a rocket booster into an assembly on the back of his boat. . The boat moves under a bridge and Pope ignites the rockets, which accelerate the boat unevenly, so he loses control and the boat moves in a circle.
