Eastern Air Lines Flight 853 (N6218C), en route from Boston Logan International Airport to Newark International Airport, collided with a Trans World Airlines (TWA) Flight 42 (N748TW) over Carmel, New York, United States. Police officers observe the damaged wing of the TWA flight’s Boeing 707-131B at JFK Airport. The Eastern Air Lines Lockheed Super Constellation plane crashed on a hill side in Westchester County. Investigating officers observe the charred remains of the plane and its cockpit.
