View inside a B-17 of the U.S. 351st Bomb Group, enroute to target in Germany during World War 2. Gunners looking out their window as escorting P-47 fighters of the U.S. 487th Fighter Squadron (352nd Fighter Group) turn back (for lack of fuel endurance) and head home to their base at RAF Station Bodney. The B-17s continuing unescorted in tight formation, displaying high altitude contrails. German fighters are spotted at 9 O'Clock high. Contrails from German fighters are seen. Gunners rotating their turrets as they look out for enemy attacks. American gunner fire at attacking German fighters. Sky filled with swirling contrails from the attackers. German fighter disables lead ship which begins to descend with number 4 engine smoking. Crew inside B-17 watches as some of the stricken crew bail out. German fighters continue relentless attacks on the B-17s. One is seen falling into a flat spin and descending rapidly, out of control. German FW-190 fighter join in the attack. B-17 gunners hit one and it explodes and falls. Another B-17 is hit and falls out of control. German fighters regroup in formation as the B-17s enter an area of concentrated antiaircraft ground fire. Black bursts of flak surround the B-17s. Soon the German fighter attacks resume.

View from inside a B-17 of the U.S. 351st Bomb Group, as it arrives over its target in Germany during World War 2. Smoke screen set off by defenders is visible streaming across the ground. A lone German fighter makes a final attack through the flak zone and downs a B-17, which is seen falling out of the formation with part of its empennage shot away. The lead B-17 fires a flare signalling start of the bomb run. Control of the aircraft's course is transferred to the bombardier. Bomb bay doors are opened and bombs are seen falling from the B-17s. Bombs fall on waterfront dock areas and on industrial areas. A mix of incendiary and antipersonnel bombs are dropped on adjacent enemy aerodrome. Smoke rising from bomb strikes begins to obscure the targets. As the bombers close their bomb bay doors, to commence return home, they continue to be attacked by Flak.

French firemen and U.S. troops extinguish fire at a theatre in Brest, France soon after World War I.

Fire in the The Wilson Square - Champ-de-Bataille Square municipal theatre (located in the Place Wilson) in Brest, France. The architect was Antoine Choquet de Lindu. People on the street outside the Theatre during the fire. French firemen and U.S. troops (immediately post World War 1) arrive in trucks to fight the theater fire. The fire fighters extend water hoses from the trucks and from manual pumps to the building. Men climb up ladders to the first floor of the building. Men standing on the balcony of the first floor holding the hoses. Broken windows of the ground floor in view. Men break windows on more doors. They position hoses and spray water from hoses through a window of the first floor. Firemen go up and down the ladder. A huge group of men outside the building operating a see-saw manual water pump. (The theater was completely destroyed and rebuilt in wood at the Place de la Liberté.)
