The materials needed are carried by a flatcar which moves along the new track as it is installed. Several of the troops rest momentarily, next to a steam locomotive that has been backing the supply train along the track.

Young men wearing armbands with Hebrew inscription, monitor traffic in the street on the Sabbath, when private cars are not supposed to be operating.. They stop a private car and surround and converse with the driver on the sidewalk. Several official and military vehicles pass by unhindered. They stop another private car whose driver steps from the car and shows them his authorization to be driving. The youths stand about, on empty Allenby Avenue, which goes down to the sea, completely devoid of cars moving or parked. Clock on pole reads 11:05.
