French general, Henri Joseph Gourard reviews French and Russian troops on parade in World War I

A cadre of Russian troops from the Russian Expeditionary Force in World War 1. They carry rifles with fixed bayonets, as they stand in formation on a dirt field. Their commander, holding a saber, orders his men to present arms. He then marches to a place between his cadre and a brass band. To the right of the band are French general, Henri Joseph Gourard and two other officers. Next, a French soldier in an Adrian steel helmet carrying a saber, presents himself for an award. General Gourard touches the soldier with his saber and then pins a mililtary decoration on his coat. A military photographer stands nearby. The General bestows ceremonial kisses on the awardee.
